When should you go to Japan to see the cherry blossoms (sakura)? Well, it all depends on where you are in Japan! Like in Europe, it is warmer in the south, and therefore the blooms start earlier in Fukuoka than in Tokyo. Here is a map to help you find your way.

Mount Fuji - Kawaguchiko
If you go to Japan during this season, I highly recommend you go and see Mount Fuji from Kawaguchiko.
First, because it is one of the rare seasons when the sky is clear and you can see the summit of Mount Fuji. Then, because the cherry blossoms bring a magical touch to this place. The proof in photos.
You can rent a bike for the day and ride along the lakes surrounding Mount Fuji, then relax in an onsen in the evening. A perfect plan in March when the heat is not too intense.

I slept in a room with this view for 130€ per night (March 2023). If you want to know the name of the hotel or have more information send me a message here or on instagram at @worldtrippeuse!
